Let God Define Your Purpose-Not People

This past weekend, God opened a door for me to speak to a sorority tied to our local college. The Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart to speak on our personalities, spiritual giftings, and how when these are combined they combust to create a purpose that burns inside us just waiting to burst forth from its shell to further the kingdom of God. This study came from one I taught previously to the ladies in my Sunday School class. You can complete the same study here.
While at the retreat, a young lady approached me saying she almost didn't attend the retreat because she felt incredibly hurt by a trusted friend. As a new Christian, this lady felt called to start a Bible study with her coworkers. This friend told her that as a new Christian, she should not be leading a Bible study. After taking the spiritual gifts assessment, which is listed above in the link I shared, this student discovered that she has a natural gift for teaching. She left the retreat feeling assured that she was walking in the footsteps Jesus laid out for her.
Her story made me think of David in Samuel chapter 17 and what others see in us compared to what God sees.
Listen below on what God laid on my heart this morning.
