Key Verse:
"Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day." - Psalm 25:4-5
Reading: Psalm 25
Devotional:
Often, we try to solve our own problems only to get knocked down. We try to stand up, but then grief comes. POW! Doubt rears its ugly head. POW! Judgment. Guilt. Shame. POW! POW! POW! One blow after another leaves us feeling defeated. Knocked down.
Then, you look up and see the sun. Suddenly, hope begins to return. You remember the sun rose this morning without your help. Its Creator spoke, and the sun slowly crept above the horizon. Then, you notice a bird flying. Why? Because its Creator has provided everything it needs to survive. Food. Check. Water. Check. You look to your right and watch a flower begin to bloom, reminding yourself that God gave the flower everything it would need to share its beauty with the world.
You can trust your Father to do the same for you as He does with His creation. One way to learn to trust in God is to look back on your past to see how He has provided. No, your past was not perfect. Because of sin, we live in an imperfect world. But you are here, aren’t you? Did you wake up this morning with breath in your lungs? Were you able to walk, or leap, out of bed? Then, my friend, God has a purpose for you. He is not done with you yet, just like He was not finished with King David.
Ask God to show you what He has waiting for you, teach you His ways, and lead you in His truth. He can be trusted, because He is the God of your salvation. Just like we wait for His magnificent return, we can also learn to wait for Him to meet our daily needs.
Apply:

Prayer:
Lord, I have messed up a lot in life. Yet, you never shame me. Lord, I am in pain. You know the problem. Forgive me if I did wrong in this situation. Take away the hurt. Help me learn to wait on You, knowing You have the perfect solution ready to heal me. You are good and upright. I can trust in You, because Your paths flow with mercy and truth.
