New Year, New You

Updated: Jan 9

As I scrolled through social media on New Year's Day, I read so many posts centered around the same theme. It became very apparent that 2024 was a difficult year for many of my friends and family.

Recognizing my own personal bouts of depression and anxiety from this past year caused me to pray about the new year and how I could support others who are hurting. God laid it on my heart to begin a challenge based solely around joy. I call it the "I Choose Joy" Challenge because deciding to live a life of joy and happiness is a choice. It's a choice only you can make for yourself.

This challenge is centered around the verse which reads, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4). Paul does not ask us to find joy in the Lord. He commands it. I don't know about you, but I needed that reminder.

Within this 15-day challenge, I am encouraging us all to search out true joy which can only be found in Jesus and not of things in this world. See, I was discouraged this past year and hoped my circumstances would bring me joy. Maybe a career change would bring me joy or seeking out more positive relationships while focusing on others instead of my son leaving home. I realize now I was trying to keep myself busy to take away the hurt and the pain.

I will say, the things mentioned above brought me happiness, but let me tell you friend, they did not satisfy for long. My cup was empty! I was depleted. I was running around working to solve everyone else's problems and help others that I had not taken the time to focus on my needs.

When I started seeking out Jesus by spending time in His Word and involving Him in every aspect of my life, I began to discover true joy.

Throughout this journey, we will walk together to rise up from our everyday challenges with intense Bible study and prayer. If you will allow me the opportunity, I can help you grow in your spiritual walk by bringing you closer to Christ than you've ever been before. I want to help you identify a time in your day to spend alone with Jesus.

I want to show you His thoughts toward you and the plans He has for you, to give you a future and a hope. I want you to see how His love for you trumps everyone else's thoughts of you. I want to help you fall in love with Jesus maybe for the first time or all over again. I want to help you thrive in positive relationships and show you how to serve others with a servant's heart.

So, come on! Won't you journey with our small group of ladies beginning on January 14th and make 2025 the best year ever? Click the link below to join today. Also, feel free to join our private group for upcoming posts and discussion boards.

I look forward to growing in our spiritual walk together.
